As hair transplantation has become more acceptable and refined, female with androgenic alopecia or scarring as a result of cosmetic surgery are presenting themselves to physicians much more commonly today. Hair loss in female can have a much greater psychological impact than it has on men. In correction of congenital high anterior hair line, the location and shape of a new hair line on the frontal and temporal scalp is one of the most important aspect of hair replacement surgery. Postoperative styling of the New hair line will varying depending upon the method used to transfer the hair, the local factors involved(texture, direction, density, tufting, etc.) as well as patient's preference. Unfortunately, the most common complication after traditional punch hair graft is unnatural hair line(Barbie doll appearances). In such patients, we used a combination hair graft : the anterior two to three rows of the recipient area are treated with Dr. Choi's single hair micro grafting, and the posterior to this zone, we change to two or three hair microslit grafting for a next three to four rows and then, 1.5∼2.0 mm diameter minislit grafting.
  In the period from January of 1995 to September of 1997, variable methods of the hair graft including combination hair graft were performed in 7 female patients with the high anterior hair line. In conclusion, the combination hair grafting has provided some camouflage of any tendency to a Barbie doll looking induced by traditional round punch grafting in correction of the high anterior hair line in female patients.
